Wherever your team is headed, Joel Carver will help lead the way.
Four decades. Six major hotel brands. One relentless obsession: solving the people problem before it sinks the P&L.
Joel Carver is the Founder and CEO of The Carver Companies, and he's spent his career in the rooms most speakers only talk about from the outside — running sales, marketing, and workforce strategy for the brands that define modern hospitality. He doesn't lecture on staffing and culture. He's fixed them, at scale, under real P&L pressure, for decades.

Before founding The Carver Companies, Joel served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CSM Corporation, running enterprise-wide sales strategy, marketing, revenue management, eCommerce, and PR across a diverse hospitality portfolio. His share-shifting strategy didn't just sound good in a meeting — it measurably moved RevPAR index and sales performance.
Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at some of the most recognized names in hospitality — Westin, Hilton, Omni, Wyndham Hotel Group, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Leading Hotels of the World — building a reputation as both a strategic visionary and a disciplined operator who delivers.
The industry has noticed. Joel has been named one of the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing, a TITAN 100 Top CEO in Georgia, and a Twin Cities Business Journal Diversity in Business Award recipient. His companies have landed on the INC. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies. He's also received the Atlanta Pacesetter Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Pearl River Community College, the Shepherd's Cross from the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, and the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
Under his leadership, The Carver Companies has grown to include Carver Hotel Group, the acquired Olson Hospitality Services, Carver World Temps, and the newest venture, CarverGIGS.com.
Joel delivers keynotes and executive training on leadership, sales growth, workforce strategy, and organizational culture — built for audiences who need real answers, not platitudes. He's spoken for AAHOA, Wyndham Hotel Group, InterContinental Hotels Group, and the National Technical Honors Society, and serves in board leadership roles with hospitality and tourism associations.
He's also the co-author of four books, including The People Effect: Find, Grow and Retain the Best of the Best and Peace Is About to Cease and All Hell's Gonna Break Loose — works that pull from both his professional playbook and his own journey of resilience.
Joel is deeply committed to service, with a focus on children, education, and community impact. He lives in Georgia with his husband, Van (Dr. Millin, a teaching physician), and their rescue dogs, Dudley and Pippa. His guiding belief: leadership is measured not just by results, but by lives strengthened and communities served.
